Devadiga Sangha ( R) Bangalore celebrates 66 th Independence Day

on August 15, 2012.

Devadiga Sangha celebrated 66 th Independence day by hoisting the tricolour at their premises, Ideal
Homes, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bangalore.
Shri. U. Raghu Sherigar – President hoisted the flag. Shri K.Chandrashekar – Gen Secretary, Smt
Seetha Devadiga – President of Mahila Ghataka, Shri Nodu Sadananda Devadiga – President of Yuva
Ghataka, Executive Committee Members and members of Mahila Ghataka and Yuva Ghataka were
present on this occasion.
All gathered members paid their respect by saluting the flag and singing our National Anthem.
Later a meeting was organised on this occasion, Shri U Raghu Sherigar spoke to the gathering
about India’s Freedom Struggle and Revolutionary Freedom Fighter Shahid Bhagat Singh which was
very informative. Shri. K Chandrashekar spoke about Mahatma Gandhi’s contemporary Dr Dada
Shahib Bheema Rao Ambedkar. He said, it was Dr Ambedkar’s fight for Social Justice and equality,
the suppressed and backward classes are at least availing the minimum facilities in the Post
Independence era. Further the issue of Social Justice gathered more importance while framing the
Constitution of India.
In the meeting Shri U. Raghu Sherigar – President appreciated the members especially youngsters
for participating in the debate conversation on Indian Independence and their views on Freedom.
The conversion was healthy and encouraging.
Further Shri K Chandrashekar mentioned about the request received by the President and read the
achievements of 10 year old boy Master Arvind Devadiga in Kung Fu which was published in
Kannada Prabha News paper. All the members appreciated the achievement of Master Arvind
Devadiga and spontaneously contributed. The Committee decided to donate Rs.25,000/= as a
token of appreciation for his achievement. Shri Rukkamayya Devadiga, a senior member while
admiring the achievement said that it is duty of the sangha to indentify such talents and support
accordingly.
After distributing the sweets, function concluded by vote of thanks by Shri Rajnikant S Kudpi.
Sangha appreciates the efforts put by Shri Sudhakar, Shri Ramachandra Devadiga, Shri Pavanesh
Devadiga, Shri Chandra Maravante, Shri. Ramesh, Shri Ganesh, Shri Ravi Devadiga & Shri Karan
Devadiga and all other members.
