This sloka from Bhagavat Gita well describes Shri. Somappa subha Kudpi fondly called as S .S. Kudpi for his honesty, discipline & integrity.

Born to a temple workers family on 30/10/1929 in kudupu village.

After education joined Government Service Department of Fisheries Department, Bombay Presidency

Later, shifted to Bangalore in the year 1956 on re- organisation of State of Karnataka.

He retired as a Senior Asst Director of Fisheries. One among only 2 Gazetted Rank Officer of that times.

One of the initiative taken as Marketing Manager of KSFDC (Karnataka State Fisheries Development Corporation) expanding the market of fish product by starting the chain of retail sales. Even today, we can see this idea generating revenue for KSFDC, Cubbon Park.

He is the one of the founder of Devadiga Sangha (R) Bangalore. Initially, his house at Rajajinagar was the registered office & most of the meeting was held here for many years.

The need of owning a plot & building was the totally abstract. Later years, S S Kudpi with his fellow founders succeeded in getting CA site allotted by BDA to the sangha.

As First General Secretary held the position for long, initiated many Social & Cultural events to improve the financial status of the Sangha.

An progressive initiative was to give scholarship to poor students of our community joining the professional courses.

He breathed last in the year 1st Feb 1997, but till his last breath he worked for the welfare of the community

Married Smt. Prabhavathi, D/o Janardhan Ullal in the year 1965 and had 3 children.

Even today, we remembered for his best qualities.
